Despite the fact that we’ve been here for nine months, until today we had one box full of stuff that was yet to be unpacked. We just shuffled it around the apartment, not quite sure where to store it. Well I’m happy to report, all of the contents have been given a new home, not in a rubbermaid container.
Storage in this place, is an art form.
Not much is new these days other than what seems to be a lot of subway time. I suspect it’s my new route which is a bit more crowded and slightly longer which means I sit less and read less.
Other than that we’ve both been pretty busy at work and we are gearing up for a handful of visitors in the next month or so.
It’s been raining more thus more humidity. And humidity is weird. I continue to be surprised how different the weather patterns are here. And I’m still waiting for summer to get here. I just didn’t realize how premature summer is in OK.
Yay for Thursdays! [c]
Birthday weekend is underway. And this is just the tip of the cake madness. My lovely sister and mom also sent me cupcakes from Cuppies and Joe, the most delightful cupcakes in the land. Cake abounds and I couldn’t be happier. And today there was a bagel. Shake Shack. And lots of walking to/around the Natural History Museum and Central Park. Oh and the first playoff game. Let’s go Thunder. Good day. [c]
here is a better pic from some with a real camera who got paid to take this photo… I guess technically I got paid to do as well. oh and there is story on it.

This week my office moved to a new space. And it’s pretty fantastic. Great view of the Brooklyn Bridge, nice part of the city, and all of the office is together. This is the view from my desk. It’s not the Brooklyn Bridge but I can’t complain.
The only downside is that my commute has changed so this week I’ve been figuring out my new path (with a transfer). And trying to find the best place to get bagels and coffee in the neighborhood.
Well it appears that eight month have come and gone in NYC. Really. Eight months. I’m absolutely flabbergasted by the time that has passed. In some ways it really seems like years since we dumped our life upside down and have slowly put it all back together. And when I use that analogy it all make sense why the last eight months have been a painful yet amazing time.
The job is getting better. Both professional and personally a good challenge for me despite the all around dysfunction - I’m just going to embrace the dysfunction and not fight it for the time being. If you can laugh about it…right?
Although we are gathering a new group of friends. I miss people. A lot.
We continue to walk. Miles. And my feet need more TLC than I am giving them.
We’ve had to wrangle in our eating habits recently. Despite the above - the bagels and cookies were winning the battle.
Harry Potter has served well as my subway reading material. I’m a little sad to report that I wrapped up book seven this week.
We really to find a dentist. Oh the little things. [c]
